About the Role

The CEO is the General Manager of one of our subsidiaries and directly responsible for the day-to-day management of the affiliated company. The prospective General Manager will be based in Sub-Sahara Africa and manage one of the ten AccessHolding network banks. This includes direct responsibility for the management of the economic resources and personnel of the AccessBank, its operational and financial performance as well as the development of its institutional capacity. The CEO will be part of a strong and highly motivated team in the bank and will closely interact with our Berlin Head Office. Essential tasks of the role include:
  • Ensure high quality financial services to the clientele, and maximize outreach to the target group in a sustainable way;
  • Implement best-practice corporate governance, management, organizational structure and procedures, staff development, financial management, and risk management principles;
  • Ensure compliance with the bylaws, policies and procedures of the subsidiary and AccessHolding Head Office while maintaining good coordination with Berlin Head Office, local authorities and external partners.

Minimum Requirements

  • To perform this challenging job successfully, our future CEO takes responsibility for own actions, works within budget guidelines, demonstrates ethical behavior and transparency at any time, and has outstanding didactic and communicative skills;
  • Furthermore the ideal candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Banking or equivalent;
  • Management experience in financial institutions in emerging markets;
  • Excellent entrepreneurial and leadership skills;
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written), knowledge of other languages is desirable;
  • Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa or a similar region;
  • And the willingness to work for an extended period of time in Sub-Saharan Africa.
